On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Lebanese Republic and the Republic of Bulgaria, Embassy of Lebanon in Sofia, in cooperation with the Lebanese Association, has organized a celebration in the National Palace of Culture, Lumiere Hall on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.
The commemoration was attended by Director General of the General Directorate for bilateral relations in the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry, Mr. Borislav Kostov, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Directorate, Mr. Nikolay Nikolov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Friendship between Bulgaria and Lebanon, Mr. Dimitar Delchev, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Sofia, members of the Arab communities as well the Lebanese community in Bulgaria.
The celebration was opened by the Bulgarian and the Lebanese national anthems, followed by speeches of Mr. Borislav Kostov, Mr. Delchev, Mr. George Riachi, president of the Lebanese Association in Bulgaria, and Mrs. Suzan Mouzi, Charge d'affaires a.i of the Embassy of Lebanon in Sofia.
The program included screening of a documentary film produced by the Lebanese Association in Bulgaria presenting the development of bilateral relations in all fields and the depth of the friendship and solidarity ties between the two countries and peoples.
An exhibition of posters organized by the Mission of Lebanon under the title “Lebanon and Bulgaria: Historical Glimpses, Ties beyond Diplomacy”. It has presented the most prominent historical and cultural realities that unite the two countries, without omitting the Lebanese presence and its deep integration into the local society.
The official program was followed by a cocktail.
